Alongside the announcement of their upcoming new album Afrique Victime, formidable Tuareg band Mdou Moctar have followed their vibrant recent single 'Chismiten' with its decidedly more chilled second taste 'Tala Tannam'. Floating through a calming melee of intricate instrumentation and earthy percussion, the choruses are rich with voices that radiate warmth and positivity. Mdou Moctar producer and bassist Mikey Coltun comments “While the song talks about love, we wanted to show the love between friendships and the love of Niger...The video includes friends and family—in the Tuareg community in villages around Niamey as well as Hausa people from villages in the Dosso region.” Afrique Victime will be released via Matador Records on the 21st of May. -Holly Mullineaux
